Today marked the launch of the much-lauded Tea Party Express tour through the Wisconsin Recalls. They began in La Crosse, where Republican Dan Kapanke is defending his Wisconsin State Senate seat against Democrat Jennifer Shilling.
Fox News said that hundreds of people showed up. Fox must have been in the port-a-johns when these pix were taken. Looks like tens to me. (Thanks to uppitywis.org blog).
This reminds me of Spinal Tap opening for the puppet show, after David St. Hubbins' hideous New Age Astrological Girlfriend starts managing the band:
or The Flight of the Conchord's appearance at New Zealand Town:
Who likes to rock the party? Nobody! (Not even fanstalker Mel).
While we take nothing for granted in Wisconsin, surely the rollout of Americans For Prosperity's big Tea Party rally, featuring none other than Joe the Plumber, would be a little bigger than this? Maybe they'll pick up steam after this droopy beginning?
See you at the polls this Tuesday! We'll be there, but will Joe the Plumber?
