It was a very long night, I was up until four am helping the Architecture firm I work for put up our structure for the 4th annualCANstruction, in South Coast Plaza for the annual event. Our "Hello Kitty, Goodbye Hunger" work of Canart went up beautifully and she's quite a sight.
We were building right next to the Disney people, that's intimidating!
And it was a long night, I got there at 10 pm and left shortly after 4am and everyone was still working, but I could feel the ache setting in from my Fibro and/or RA, I need my sleep and I knew I was going to feel it today. Oh I do. There's been a lot of stress going on, call it a flare, call it what you will, I've been hurting, but that's just how life goes.
Gary has his first fundraiser on September 20th for his re-election to the CUSD School board here in South Orange County. We have a dear friend who at UCLA Medical Center fighting some nasty cancer that she was just diagnosed with. Another dear friend told me her father's brain cancer has returned and it is terminal now. I'm tired of bad news.
So I wanted to share something bright.
Here she is as we went through the night.
Hello Kitty is made from THOUSANDS of cans. And every single on of them will be donated to the Orange County Food Bank. (Small world, Mark Lowry, the OC Food Bank director went to the Church that Gary and I were married at and attended when we got engaged, etc. We loved this Church mostly because of the wonderful Pastor, Mark was one of our favorite people there, so it's been nice to run into him again at various events and this is one of the best ones).
And there she is, I am not sure what time it is. It's after midnight, that's for sure. And we went all, I know we didn't raise nearly enough to cover all our costs, which is what we expect, Dougherty + Dougherty always chips in a portion of the costs. This year it was much more than previous years, the project was ambitious.
I am hoping that some here might help still. Here is our site for donations. If you feel so inclined to help cover our costs, you can still support our efforts.
And, here she is as I left at about 4:15 am this morning...
