This has been bugging me from the start of Bush's Iraq adventure. Back then I said that calling it a war was like putting me in the ring with Lennox Lewis and calling it a boxing match. Now it makes infinitely less sense to call it a war.
Preëmptive war? That's what you call aggressive invasion when it's being done by your side.
To call it a war is a disgrace to all wars.
So what the hell is it then?
It's obviously a
disaster. A complete and total fucking disaster. It may well be the single most collossal
mistake in human history.
Want to compare it to Viet Nam? Ha! There was never a time when we couldn't just get the fuck out of Viet Nam and do little damage to anything but our so-called "honor."
This is a national disgrace beyond anything we could have imagined in the World Before Bush. It has already done far more damage than was done by al Qaida on 9/11/01.
I don't know if there exists a single word that can describe this mess. But it sure as hell isn't "war."
Any suggestions?
