Apparently Phelps and his band of bigots areheaded to the land of Zion to protest not only Kevin Smith's newest film and Sundance entry, "Red State", but every other heathen in the neighborhood while they are at. These dangerous bigots are headed to Salt Lake and Park City today to protest an array of things.
I find it quite disturbing that these people, bigots and right wing ideologues disguised as Christians, feel it necessary to not only fly in and protest the film, but also, while they are at it, protest at a local synagogue, a local episcopalian church (what's with that?), and while downtown of course, a swing by the LDS temple to protest against Mormonism.
My hope is that Kevin's film is awesome and takes the media and the public by storm. If you haven't heard about Red State, it is a horror film, where three teenage boys run afoul of a
a terrifying "holy" force with a fatal agenda.

and according to Smith,
"It’s certainly not Phelps himself but it’s very much inspired by a Phelps figure," said Smith. "And to me, too, the notion of using a Phelps-like character as a villain, as horrifying and scary as that guy can be, there’s even something more insidious than him that lurks out there in as much as a public or a government that allows it and that’s the other thing that I’m trying to examine in a big, big way."

I, for one, will be happy to have them leave and crawl back to the hole where they came from.
Here's the trailer for the film. I couldn't get tickets to tonight's showing, but plan on supporting it. Good for you Kevin, taking on these monsters. And kudos to Sundance for selecting it. WBC are a prime example of the terrifying turn this country seems to be taking.
