Now is the tipping point.
Yesterday and the events of the past decade are so wrong that there are no words. The end of the incitement and the evil is here and now.
Evil words have done a lot to get us here, but now we have to take action for decency, not just talk about it.
We want to go back to a world we can live in without shame. Every word we say must work hard, not just describe or foretell or, God help us, tsk tsk.
The tipping point is now. We cannot say the mending will begin. It begins today, as we mourn John Roll, Christina Greene, and four other people we haven't met yet. We'll never meet them, and neither will anyone else, because they're the latest victims of society's pervasive hatred.
This is the tipping point. Now. Everything we do and say, starting now, must work to reclaim decency by shaming our destroyers and taking away their power over us. "They have no shame" is only words. They can and will be shamed, because we will shame them.
The word unspeakable means not to be spoken and beyond description. The evil that has almost destroyed our country should be unspeakable, but it has been triggered by words as well as actions.
There are a thousand things we can do. Suggestions are everywhere, but, again, they're words. The time for action is now, not at some future time when the tipping point is reached. The tipping point is now, this moment.
We've been asking "What can we do?" People on DK and elsewhere have said "Let's do this" and "We can do that." Today's action is to gather up the suggestions from diaries and comments on this website and list them in the comments to this diary. Take responsibility for one, just one, of those suggestions.
The time is now. Promise, plan, turn off the computer, act. We can do no less.
Edit: The hatemongers and hate groups have had plenty of help, and they've taken advantage of it. This insurrection timeline shocked me from the first paragraph. Read it, weep, and call out every word of RW propaganda and any-wing hate you hear.
