Wow. He couldn't even wait until the mid point of the greiving process
This inhuman act should not, and will not, deter us from our calling to represent our constituents and to fulfill our oaths of office. No act, no matter how heinous, must be allowed to stop us from our duty.
Translation: We will go ahead with our hate filled agenda as soon as possible and not accept the fact that our hate is a factor in this tragedy.
I am convinced that Republicans will continue to tell their base that the left are traitors and the founding fathers would probably want to kill us.
Sadly, six people, including a child, have become victims of our hate/insane gun control policy axis. 75,000 people die every year from guns in the US. If it was a disease, we would run commercials seeking donations for research. Instead, we have organizations like the NRA that are funded by gun manufacturers and they pour tens of millions into efforts that stymie gun control.
So we become victims of the fear that comes from the threat of violence. Choose your "rights". Do you want to be able to say and think what you want without the fear of being shot? Or do you want to be able to buy a handgun without a background check in case you get mad at someone?
I don't think handguns are necessarily part of the second amendment but I guess that is an argument for another day. What concerns me now are two things: 1. John Boehner's call for business as usual as soon as possible and 2. The news media making every effort to say Democrats are as bad as Republicans when it comes to violence against public officials.
