Today's Mothership Resource diary: Occupy Wall Street - Mothership Sunday 10/9/2011
Updates
(All times are Eastern)
8:23pm: "Signs, signs everywhere a sign! " And all joanneleon had to do was walk around and look at them.
The media can't read or??? They kept asking "what are they protesting?"
EVERYTHING that is wrong with the system... And that includes the media, too. All you have to do is walk around with your eyes open to what the people are really saying.
7:52pm: More video from joanneleon.... Just to get an idea of what to expect if you go looking for the newly founded Zuccotti Park Center for Democracy called Occupy Wall St.:
7:27pm: Again but with video and again, from triv33, a link to "Roundtable: Reactions to Wall Street Protests" featuring Christiane Amanpour, George Will, Matthew Dowd, Peggy Noonan and Donna Brazile. Oh yeah... And Daily Kos' very own evil liberal blogger MoT, AKA Jesse LaGreca, representing for OWS.
4:30pm: Another joanneleon photo from this afternoon... And there is another video from an hour ago in the comments. Also a comment from her on the atmosphere:
"It's wall to wall people at the park and lower Manhattan's very crowded.
The place is jumping, pulsing, filled to overflow - huge, alive. Geraldo walked right past me and his crew set up cameras. News media and other journalists and documentary folk and citizen journos all over plus many tourist types, onlookers..."
- joanneleon
3:30pm: Kossack extraordinaire joanneleon has a very special interview from inside JP Morgan... Yes! You did read that correctly -INSIDE JP MORGAN TODAY and on the occupation and so much more. And this is really good:
I told mothership, earlier today, that we had some special stuff planned for today. Hang on to your keyboard because this will be a little bit different of a "liveblog" today and just for daily kos.
3:06pm: OWS liveblog's usual author, joanneleon, has hit the ground in New York and is sending stuff out:
2:43pm: From CBS news with a written report at the link:
"Occupy" protesters garner increased support
The media no longer ignore this as it grows.
2:32pm: Fellow kossack, Clarknt67, gets the New York Times:
New York Times Gets #OccupyWallStreet
The New York Times Editorial page takes a look at the Wall Street protesters. It seems their message is not too defused or confused that it has not made it's way through to them.
So, what is it about, confused punditry? The Times spells it out quite clearly.
2:07pm: From gooderservice... This is pitiful, Mayor Bloomberg:
Mayor Bloomberg Claims ‘Occupy Wall Street’ Protesters are Targeting Bankers Who "Are Struggling to Make Ends Meet"
2:01pm: Charlie Grapski wants to share this info and it is important:
Conservative Magazine Brags of its Agent Provocateur's Role in Provoking Police Action in D.C.
Rec it, tweet it, share it on facebook.
1:54pm: From triv33, a link to "Roundtable: Reactions to Wall Street Protests" featuring Christiane Amanpour, George Will, Matthew Dowd, Peggy Noonan and Donna Brazile. Oh yeah... And Daily Kos' very own evil liberal blogger MoT, AKA Jesse LaGreca, representing for OWS.
1:32pm: From Ellinorianne:
Occupy Orange County to Descend on Irvine's Financial District on October 15
There are worldwide Occupations planned for October 15th, as well.
11:52am: From frandor55 and not completely OWS related BUT not unrelated either:
Civil Disobediance In London Planned For Today (7+ / 0-)
Not directly affiliated w/ #OWS, but shows citizens taking action to preserve their Healthcare.

11:11am: A report this morning from MSNBC to which I can only say: WOWSERS!
Occupy Wall Street protesters running out of space
After 3 weeks in 'Liberty Plaza,' demonstrators look at expanding into NYC's Washington Square and Battery parks
It is getting that big that fast...
