The fourth General Assembly of #OccupyBerkeley took place this evening at 6:00 pm October 12. As many as sixty or seventy people were there at one time or another, with a core of around forty stalwarts. The site is beginning to look snazzy, with tables for flyers in front and the anti-corporate American flag hanging in the middle, food and other supplies arrayed on benches in the back.
The event that these General Assemblies are, in part, preparing for is a teach-in/rally at noon on Saturday, October 15th, followed by a march, followed by the General Assembly meeting at 2:30 PM. The hope is for a gathering of hundreds, if not a thousand or more. This event will coincide with similar events in Oakland, San Francisco, and across the country.
According to Russell Bates, a Vietnam veteran appearing in the video here, some ten to fifteen people occupied the parklet outside the Bank of America in downtown Berkeley overnight last night.
Here is my report from the General Assembly of two nights ago:

The movement continues to grow.
