On a sunny Saturday in Wyoming's capital city, a group of some 90 people came out for Occupy Cheyenne. It was spurred on by several Facebook pages, a Twitter hashtag, a handful of local prog-blogs, a notice in the weekly shopper newspaper, and word of mouth.
We occupied the historic depot plaza downtown from noon-3 p.m. Most responses from passing cars and trucks were supportive honks and not finger-o-grams. A good time was had by all.
Occupy Cheyenne received coverage from local TV and daily newspaper. In mid-afternoon, the editor of the local Tea Party monthly came out to interview us. He said he would have been at the demo sooner but he didn't know about it. What, you guys never heard of social media?
