Ok, I'm noticing something that is really starting to piss me off here.
Why does our constitution not apply when dealing with corporations. Talk all you will about "Their house, their rules" but at a certain point, you've got someone taking away your rights. You've got somebody who says that their "rules" are more important than your freedoms.
And that somebody is a person, according to the supreme court.
(Rant on the flip)
If you are in an airport, you are in another country. For all intents and purposes, the constitution does not apply to you once you are on "private property". Doesn't matter how essential that private property is to you, doesn't matter that it is effectively the only way to do business. The constitution no longer applies because you are in "Their house."
Riding a bus long distances? Same thing. You might blow up something. Can't take the chance.
Remember when you could pay more and skip screening? I do. This is not about being safe. This is about making sure that the poorer among us stay put. This is about having your papers in order. This is about making sure that you don't rock the boat.
We live in a country where you can be sued for more than the cost of producing an album for simply downloading one track. Course, if a corporate entity KILLS somebody we have to limit the liability on them. Can't have a damned parasite living off the "hard work" of our job creators.
Private security can completely take away your rights, imprison you falsely and do things to you that would rightly be considered sexual assault if done by any other private individual. But since they aren't the cops, you have no right to complain. Oh of course you can sue them in court... provided of course you can afford to.
We had a debate last night. A seven headed monster that didn't even address one of these issues. What did we get instead? You're too soft on the scum. Gotta clamp down harder!
And you ask why the hell people are in the streets. I haven't even gotten started...
