Welcome to another in the occasional series where we celebrate music and culture. I was not planning an installment for today, but when I saw that my adopted hometown's birthday was today, I changed my mind.
If it is your birthday, best and happiest returns to you.
This scene from the movie Philadelphia always brings me to tears:
For those who know or love the City of Brotherly Love, the building in this scene is on the southeast corner of 10th & Bainbridge, across from the playground associated with the Palumbo Recreation Center in Bella Vista.
This is also the anniversary of Constantine's Vision of the Cross. Who knows what our world would be like if Constantine had lost that battle? We will never know.
Also, on a day which affected my ancestors profoundly, Governor Bogg of Missouri essentially put a bounty of Latter Day Saints.
And a special tip of the hat to our Bostonian Kossacks:
On to birthdays. This will be quick and dirty, as I have limited time.
