We want to praise the brave souls of the 99% and others who are standing up to power. By peacefully organizing and remaining focused, they have forced concessions the “Big Buck Banks” would have only chuckled at, over gourmet coffee in walnut paneled boardrooms high above Manhattan.
How cool it would have been, to be a fly on that walnut paneled wall witnessing the decision being made to abandon their billion buck fee scam to separate the suckers from their bottom dollars.
After watching co-conspirators slowly shy away from following through on their “Republican sanctioned fee gauging”, Bank of America stubbornly held-out to the very end, hoping the public’s fury would abate. If only someone would come forward with a recording or better yet, video the red-faced, cufflinks & silk tie clad public relations crews, desperately advising “banking brass”, they could not win this one.
It appears we got the bastards on the run and the people are chasing them.
Yesterday, Bank of America caved into to pressure applied by activist, to avoid the new monthly $5.00 fee customers would be charged to utilize their debit cards. Many have moved to debit cards in oder to reduce the chances of "financial rape" by big banks pimping off them.
As the wave of disdain grows toward the cowardly scum floating at the top economic food chain, bankers and other power brokers who spend their time scheming to grow personal wealth at the expense of the middle class, have only been grazed by the first salvos of the people's anger. The pressure should continue to mount exponentially as the 99% educate themselves on the methods and measures used by the wealthiest to manage the decline of the American dream.
However, like recent announcements of Wall Street investment bankers being charged and brought to trial for insider trading, this is low hanging fruit. When this "people's movement" begin to channel their energies toward other financial sector inequities like, the refusal to reduce principles on "underwater" mortgages, that is when the real $hit hits the fan. If those at the top have to be whittled down one criminally inspired issue at a time, that is how it'll have to be. And to those fighting the good fight, if you want things to change, you now know you have the power to change things yourselves. Hang in there, we're the 99%
