Occupy Oakland's General Strike is a rousing success, with several thousand protesters showing up for the 9:00 am rally and march on the downtown banks. The protesters were loud and completely peaceful. All downtown banks were closed; some businesses closed (some with solidarity signs in the windows) while others remained open. But others can report on the scene more thoroughly--I want to let the pictures speak.
This was the scene this morning at 14th & Broadway, shortly before the march began.
