I organized and sponsored a Veteran's Day Celebration yesterday for the veterans in our senior CHA building, where I also live. We cooked food and broke bread together, and gave gifts from business people in the area and from ourselves.
I know this is a short diary, but the sentiments shown below are from the heart. This is what we gave each of our 25 veterans.
Recognition of Service
(Name), on behalf of a grateful nation and in recognition of the years you served your country with honor, we say “Thank You.”
It is said that no one desires or loves peace more than a soldier, because he or she must bear the burden of war. In this time of hopeful peace for us all, we remember your service. Mindful of the passing years we say to you that we remember, and we say thank you for your service to our country.
We wish the same for all veterans. Peace.
