The recall action against Scott Walker that begins tomorrow is entirely deserved, and of his own making, beginning with his lie of omission about his union-busting scheme, and continuing when he released it onto the people. We do not want a Governor who brags about having "dropped the bomb" on citizens, then dissembled about it - - and thus laid the groundwork for a year of living deceitfully.
UPDATE, Mon. night: Main recall website taken down in alleged cyber attack.
Hence, a much-deserved, completely self-generated recall begins tomorrow for he who wants us to believe he is that deeply religious Eagle Scout. 540,000 signatures to go...
Walker has acknowledged - - but it took Politifact "false" ratings and being asked under oath at a Congressional committee hearing - - that he had withheld from voters during the 2010 Wisconsin gubernatorial election his plan to strip public employes of their collective bargaining history and rights.
In fact, PolitiFact has found Walker with the most ratings with the word "false" in the scoring of any Wisconsin figure - - 24 of 36 - - with no rating of "mostly true" or better since May 8th.
And Walker's party has sponsored, or he has signed, bills to obstruct voter registration and voting, tilt election schedules towards their constituencies, run fake Democratic candidates in senate recall elections, and filed a bogus recall petition 'against Walker to trigger unlimited fundraising on his behalf that a quick in Wisconsin law offers incumbents facing recalls.
Duplicity is the Walker hallmark: he called his union-stripping measure "reasonable," and the special legislative session he called and has just ended began the process to transfer public waterway and shoreline resources to private ownership and control - - under the equally misleading label of "job-creating."
Other work by the job-creators for Walker in the session" a bill to mandate abstinence-only sex ed in the public schools, concealed gun carry without training (including into the state capitol), and pushing the beginning hour for package liquor sales in Wisconsin - - the nation's leader in binge drinking, OWI fatalities and other boozy indices - - to 6 a.m. from 8 a.m.
