The vast majority of Americans agree with these guys (Fred Prouser/Reuters)
Public Policy Polling for Daily Kos/SEIU. 11/10-13. Registered voters. MoE 3.1% (No trend lines)
Would you prefer to keep your money in an account at a major national bank, or a local financial institution?
Major national bank 17%
Local financial institution 67%
Bizarrely, support for the too-big-to-fail banks is
stronger among Democrats:
Dem 21/62
GOP 17/70
Ind 13/70
Among tea partiers, it's 16/72.
Why is support for going local strongest among the Right? I can't even begin to speculate. But the differences are minimal. Fact is, most Americans are rejecting the national banks and supporting the idea of going local.
All that's left is for them to take the plunge and move their money.
