Hey everyone, if you're going to be anywhere near Madison, WI Saturday don't forget to come to the capitol building for the Walker recall rally.
There will be pavilions set up all day at the rally with petition circulators ready to take your signature (That's what I plan to be doing so I might not see much of the rally myself as I will be stuck put in one place). If you're wanting to sign (and of course are a legal Wisconsin Voter) this is a great chance to add your name to the petition if you haven't already signed. The more people there are signing saturday, the larger the crowd, and thus the better chance there is of getting a good media presence. This isn't just meant to be a chance to sign but also march with the crowd and use our crowd size as an advertisement for the recall effort, this being the first weekend after the 60 day time clock started. So even if you've already signed the petition, come anyway to help add another body to the crowd size.

More details below the squiggly orange thingy. In the meantime, I have to get to bed early tonight to be there on time tomorrow.
Predicting ahead of time how big the crowd will be is always hard. In the February and March WI Capitol rallies sometimes they'd predict 50,000 and only get 10,000, while other times they'd predict only 20,000 and get 100,000.
Let's see if we can recapture the spirit of those days back in February and March.
I kept trying to look online to see what the planned events actually are (which speakers there will be) but all I could find were references to the fact that the planned events start at 11am).
Newspaper story about the event:

DPW's page where you can sign up to help with the event (warning, you'll have to get there early in the morning to do this):

The recall event also has a canned food drive to go with it, with the theme of "Can Walker". Donations go to local food pantries to help families who need it, of which there are unfortunately several more these days with all of Walker's "help" for Wisconsin.

On the other side, The Republican Party is planning on drumming up people to attend as well with an anti-recall message. I doubt their numbers will be big: http://milwaukee.wisgop.info/...
But that's all the more reason to add your body to the numbers, to make their numbers seem even smaller by comparasin.
