¡Maldita Sea! (dang it), this will sound like you know what, but...jeez. Lol, no piňche spam here, just links to government pages.
In 60 seconds many of you will find 100s of dollars. Some, like me 2 days ago, will find thousands.
http://scoweb.sco.ca.gov/...
That's the California State Controller's Office webpage. Click on the link & type in your last name (I suggest leaving both city & first name blank-as some of my accounts only came up with only the last name). You'll find $ that is owed to you, that people are actually trying to pay you, & that you're unaware of.
Outside of California, no problem. go to-
http://www.sco.ca.gov/...
That's the California State Controller's Office page of links for related websites. The second link on that page takes you to National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators (NAUPA). Then just click on your own state.
Don't be blindsided by the term "Property"-everything from you're owed from utility deposits, to inheritances, to past salaries, to insurance policy benefits, will be listed.
Even if you're sure, as I was 2 days ago, that no one owes YOU money...try it anyways. It only takes 60 seconds & could be a life-saver.
You don't even need to read the rest of this diary (though you're welcome to), just go check out what $ the state(s) is trying to get to you!
Nearly everyone (except for 1%) is cash-strapped. I've been, & I felt bad when I haven't been able to offer a helping hand to other kossacks in need. I hope this will help some of you in need. It just helped me a helluva lot. In fact, I'm sure it will help someone else here.
I found money from an AARP insurance policy I'm owed (& was totally unaware of) from a parent who has been deceased over 10 years. Then I found about $800 that I'm owed from smaller accounts. Checked out five (off-line) friends & 4 of them are owed a few hundred each. Real amazing stuff.
Finding out what people are already trying to pay you is as simple as 1,2,3.
1. Click-
California State Controller's Office
This box appears in the middle of the page-
Make sure you click the box I've circled in red (at least on the first try). Then hit search.
2. When the box below appears, you can right-click on the column of blue numbers I've highlighted in red to open a new window with the details of that account
3. The specifics of the account will appear as below if the $ has already been turned over to the state. You can then fill out the request form, sign it, & mail/fax it to the state. If the company hasn't turned the $ over yet, the contact info to the company will appear & you can contact them directly (& quicker).
If you live outside of California, you'll start at National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators (NAUPA) map below & then follow the links for your own state.
If after getting your money that people are actually trying to put into your hands, & after putting some holiday food on your table, you have any left over...you might consider spreading the warmth a bit by dropping some of it off
-here (with the appropriate link at that diary's end).
Wishing you all the best luck during the holiday season.
