Una was one of the reported, 46 arrestees from Occupy Boston, and sent an email out at about 12:40 EST that read simply:
I'm out of jail. Will you let Kossacks know please?
Yeah Una, we can do that.
In Una's last diary she wrote a declaration:
Because I believe
That the government does not have right to say where, when, how or for what duration the citizens can assemble in public space for public assembly and public protest;
That human and civil rights trump state laws;
That the profound corruption of democracy we face and the continued crimes against our citizenry demand a profoundly different, persistent form of assembly and protest;
That the US recognized the right of Egyptians to occupy Tahrir Square in the name of freedom of speech and assembly, without permits or meeting any codes;
That we no longer are afforded public venues for prolonged discourse without the filter and control of corporate interests;
That life is not risk-free and adults have the right to take the risks associated with an encampment if they deem it worthwhile;
That the city has been duplicitous in its claims to support our right while trying to use ordinances which they prevent us from adhering to as justification for forcefully dispersing our assembly;
That our Constitution was written to serve the owner class and therefore must be challenged to move us toward true democracy for all;
That the Occupy movement is peaceful and cannot 'hostilely take' its own land;
I will stand with my brothers and sisters in Dewey Square and peacefully defend our public assembly at the risk of arrest.
We, the 99%, have had enough
