Perhaps the sister city of Hollywood, knows a thing or two about the role of Media, and the role of Corporate Ad-buys, in setting a tone and a mindset, for the vast majorities of American viewers ... (especially in even numbered years).
And the city of Los Angeles, has just said 'Enough, is enough!'
Video: LA City Council approves motion against corporate personhood

The City Council members mention that the Airways belong to the Public.
It's time to take them back, for the purpose of serious political discussion, something more than our inane 30 second sound bites, to summarize and complete a thought.
It's time to take back the power of unlimited corporate cash, supercharged by the Citizens United decision, to allow unlimited purchase of those 30 second political sound bites.
It's time to take back OUR COUNTRY, for We the PEOPLE, as the Constitution proclaimed. It does NOT say: We the Corporations, in that important founding document.
The Los Angeles City Council sees their vote as the beginning of a citizens grassroots movement, that should "happen sooner, as opposed to later", to begin the process of Moving to Amend our Constitution, to ensure it is used for the sole benefit of natural human people.
It is time to end the long dismal era of trumped-up constitutional protection for those "artificial" corporate persons ... end the misguided claims that "Corporations are Equals to Humans", under some unthinking, uncritical interpretation of the law.
Here's an article that discussed LA's landmark decision ...
(hint: it's longer than 30 seconds ...)
Los Angeles Votes to End Corporate Personhood
by Eric W. Dolan‚ beyondchron.org -- Dec. 08‚ 2011
The Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously to support a resolution calling for a constitutional amendment that would assert that corporations are not entitled to constitutional rights, and that money is not the same as free speech.
The resolution was backed by Move to Amend, a national coalition working to abolish corporate personhood and overturn U.S. Supreme Court’s controversial Citizens United ruling. The decision gave corporations and unions the ability to spend unlimited amounts of money to influence elections, so long as their actions are not coordinated with a candidate’s campaign.
“Move to Amend’s proposed amendment would provide the basis for overturning the recent Supreme Court decision in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission,” stated Mary Beth Fielder, Co-Coordinator of LA Move to Amend. “The Supreme Court has no legitimate right to grant people’s rights to corporations. We must clearly establish that it is we, The People, who are meant to rule.”

We the People, Not We the Corporations
Move to Amend
We, the People of the United States of America, reject the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in Citizens United, and move to amend our Constitution to firmly establish that money is not speech, and that human beings, not corporations, are persons entitled to constitutional rights.
The Supreme Court is misguided in principle, and wrong on the law. In a democracy, the people rule. We Move to Amend.
