Leveson Inquiry: Former News Of The World Editor Piers Morgan To Appear Next Week, CNN Confirms | UK News | Sky News
Former Daily Mirror and News Of The World editor Piers Morgan will face the Leveson Inquiry into press ethics next week.
His appearance was confirmed by American news network CNN, where he currently works as a TV anchor.
In November, Lord Justice Leveson said Mr Morgan would be called, but no date was set.
Mr Morgan has denied all suggestions that he was aware of phone hacking by his journalists.
Although he has always denied any involvement in phone hacking He has several questions to answer
New Statesman - What did Dominic Mohan say in 2002?
In the Guardian on 1 May 2002, there appeared anintriguing paragraph in a report about "showbusiness journalism's most glamorous event, the Princess Margaret Awards -- aka the Shaftas":
Ring, a ring a story
How appropriate that the most glamourous event in the showbusiness calender should be sponsored by a phone company. Mohan went on to thank "Vodafone's lack of security" for the Mirror's showbusiness exclusives. Whatever does he mean?
Indeed, whatever could he have meant?
This was while he was editor, and it's one question he has always avoided answering. I'm sure that other news organisations will also have the odd questiuon or two they wish putting to him. News International and the Murdoch organisation eager to distract from their own problems.
So Popcorn to the ready on Tuesday
