Yes, I'm going to nag you too, but first, I want to share something beautiful with you.
My life has been a whirlwind. I have been battered during the storms, comforted by the sun breaking through the sometimes ominous clouds, I have fought like hell through despair and joy, and when all is said and done I will know in my heart this fact, I am forever indebted to the wonderful community I have found here at Daily Kos. I owe you a debt of gratitude I feel I may never repay.
The knowledge I have gained here is yours, and I am grateful for it.
The friends I have made here are real, and I am grateful for them.
Had I never found these lovely orange shores my life would have been much the poorer for it. Mired in misery, elevated to the dizzying heights, all that I could ask for and more has been provided to me thanks to this community, but we still have much work to do, and miles to go before we sleep, and miles to go before we sleep.
I hurry, now, to go appear on the Thom Hartmann show. Add that to my running list of words I never thought I would write. I met with several congressional staffers today, last night I was on the Ed Show with Ed Schultz on MSNBC, the week before Bill O'reilly called me a pinhead on Fox News, tomorrow I will head over to Darrell Issa's office to give him and his staff a piece of my mind. I hope they keep a wheelbarrow in his office, because a piece of my mind will be a heavy load for those dead beats to bear.
This community has put food on my table, a roof over my head, love in my heart and hope, real hope, that if I keep fighting like hell I just might make it. Looking back I found a diary I wrote earlier this year titled I will NOT kill myself the way my father did because writing WILL save my life again. Thanks to all of you, it has. To think, a year ago I was chopping onions in a small, dirty kitchen, and today I am debating the George Will's and Paul O'Neill's of the world. For all of this, I have this wonderful community to thank. Though I could hardly ask for anything more I will, because that is called progress, and I will continue to be a nuisance to the comfortable, I will continue to speak truth to power, but in order to do so, I need you guys and gals to do one thing for me right now, if you are able . . .
Please consider purchasing a subscription with DailyKos.com. This community is a beautiful, wonderful thing that has made my life exponentially richer, in both word and deed. Give another one of our brothers and sisters the same opportunity I have had to use this amazing platform as a place to fight for the change we all want in our world. We can create a vastly better world for all of us, but we have to all fight together to achieve that. Allow me to humbly thank all of you. It is an honor to stand and fight along side you.
