How you can elect a young progressive mayor in a republican leaning city in Wisconsin; who is fighting for the voiceless.
Yesterday, I informed the Daily Kos community that I was officially on the mayoral ballot for Sheboygan, Wisconsin -- a city of 50,000 on the shores of Lake Michigan between Milwaukee and Green Bay.
I thought today I would let you all know how you can help elect a young progressive mayor in a city that leans republican. Since receiving national media in the New York Daily News and The Huffington Post for fighting republican incumbent Mayor Bob Ryan's legal threats, law enforcement investigators are now seeking two sexual assault charges against the mayor.
I have three simple ways of helping my campaign:
1. Donate $20. My campaign is currently $350 away from reaching its $1,000 fundraisin goal before the Tuesday, Janurary 17th mayoral primary. All donations raised will be used to reach voters. My campaign has yet to purchase yeard signs, newspaper advertisements or a billboard. If you perfer to donate via PayPal, Click Here. I do not have an ActBlue account as they said Sheboygan does not qualify for their fundraising.
2. "Like" my Facebook Page. Even though you may not live in Sheboygan or Wisconsin, you can still stay connected with my campaign and myself by liking my Facebook Page. I've been using Facebook to post updates and news relating to my campaign.
3. Follow me on Twitter. If you have a Twitter account, I invite you to follow me. I post updates relating to my campaign as well as sharing links to progressive and democratic campaigns.
I really do appreciate all of your support. It means so much to me. As I've told the voters in Sheboygan, this campaign is not about me -- it's about Sheboygan. I am running for mayor because I believe in Sheboygan and I want to be a voice for the voiceless.
If you can donate $5, $10, $25 or whatever you can afford, please donate to fund my grassroots campaign. $350 may seem like a small amount but it can reach thousands of voters in my city. Please spread the word if you can.
