This may be too petty for a diary, but I got an amusing rogueocall, er, robocall from my state's Gingrich for President committee tonight. Mr. Announcerman read through a list of times and places where petitions to put Newt on the primary ballot could be signed. (His reportedly disorderly campaign doesn't yet have him on the ballot in this populous state.) All of the times were for yesterday. The announcement included that one could meet Gingrich tonight at a certain location -- but the announcement was already halfway into the meeting period. The highly polished robocaller closed, "Good night and thanks for listening, [Pause] Good night and thanks for listening." This is bad for Gingrich and for the President. This kind of campaign operation doesn't speak well for Newt's chances and doesn't speak well for Obama's chance of drawing Newt as his opponent.
