Senator John Ensign (R-NV) speaks out.
Ensign said Craig's resignation clearly would be in the interest of the Republican Party.
"We'll see whether Larry wants to put himself through that," Ensign said. "I can't imagine him wanting to put his family through that or the Senate through that, but we'll see."
"You never know what people will do in these situations," he said.
That was in 2007.
Today:
The Senate Ethics Committee today announced the appointment of a special counsel in its inquiry of Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev., related to his affair with a former aide, the wife of his close friend and adviser.
No word from Ensign on the news, so apparently his imagination is working fine.
