The thought that it might be otherwise would not even begin to consider to cross my mind. The possibility that this is a story made to sell books and win democratic votes, I am certain, have nothing to do with his confession at this time. The fact that he must choose between representing his constituents and siding with an increasingly radical gop, he says (and I take him at his word), were never considered in this very personal decision.
He says he was molested as a boy, and I take him at his word, despite the fact that there is no one to confirm or deny the story, or even a witness to say Sen. Brown confided in them some time after the accident.
I know that child abuse is a horrible crime and, more often than not, goes unreported for years, if ever. I am always willing to give the benefit of the doubt to anyone, especially in a case like this, just as I would if someone told me their religion. On the other hand, Sen. Brown's confession does seem to come at a very opportune time for him.
