Addresses semantic framing weaknesses in current liberal dialogue
Every day the truth and liberal ideology is slandered by Rush and Beck and their ilk. The least we can do is label them for what they are.
They are aided by Murdoch's Faux News, such false and lyting news it would not be permitted in a well run republic (none of those here.)
Meanwhile the obscene rich get richer thank to Republican lying and double dealing on the dynasty tax.
HATE RADIO, FAUX NEWS, AND THE DYNASTY TAX.
In the enlightening book Don’t Think of an Elephant George Lakoff made the trenchant point that when you accept the enemy’s verbal framing of the argument you have lost half the argument.
Since there seems to be no one minding the semantics store for liberals here are some ideas.
Stop referring to hate radio as “talk radio.” It’s hate radio and should be referred to as such every time it is mentioned.
Stop calling Fox News Fox. Label it for what it is: FAux News.
And stop letting the fascist job killers call the estate tax the death tax. It’s the dynasty tax. Teddy Roosevelt, when it was instituted, said the purpose of the tax was to prevent the formation of dynasties. He considered dynasties inimical to a well functioning democracy and he was right. Imagine that the Koch brothers are going to leave their venom and their billions to their baby snakes. The wisdom of the tax becomes immediately evident. Draw at least one of their fangs.
