Much has already been written about the FAIL of conservatives in the last few days. But nothing has exposed the soft white underbelly of the conservative beast as its blind allegiance with Mubarak and his crushing suppression of the Egyptian citizenry.

In a stunning reversal of rhetoric, much of the right has abandoned much of their supposed core belief system. Gone is any claim to a love of democracy. Gone is any claim to a love of freedom. Gone is any claim to a love of an open and free press/social media. Gone is any claim of a love of 'grass roots' activism.
The right's embrace of the totalitarian regime of Mubarak, the censorship, brutal attacks on citizens and authoritarian grip the government wields say more about the conservative mind than any blog post or rant on Fox News.
It's all there. The hard right has never been about 'freedom' or 'democracy'. It is about power and the abuse of power. It's about control. It's about money. But it's mostly about the end times staging ground that is Israel that conservatives covet.
Progressive bloggers have been all over this obvious exposition of conservative hypocrisy. But the media? Fuggetaboutit. Being part of the deception, the modern media cannot analyze itself. Hell, it can't even see itself. If a lack of self-awareness is an essential part of the conservative mind, it has never been so apparent - or exposed and the media is totally oblivious.
Don't expect any attention to the obvious mask slip from CNN or any network news outlet. The 'liberal media' does not exist. And neither does the moderate, democratic conservative. The next time you hear some Tea Partier or Fox Newser wail about rights and freedoms, listen again. Their whine is not about anything to do with noble causes; it's all about being told what to do, when to do it, obey your masters and never, ever question authority.
