Last night I was full of hatred and anger for Scott Walker and the Republican Party of Wisconsin, tonight...I am full of hope. The crowd that gathered on the Capitol Square tonight was hopeful and energetic. We will win the day.
Tonight I heard the Reverend Jesse Jackson speak, I got to shake his hand as he departed. At one point I was surrounded by firefighters playing bagpipes and drums (bagpipes...are really loud when you are next to them.)
I heard Assemblyman Barca speak tonight...and quite honestly it was the first time in my 43 years that I have ever heard a Democrat speak with fire and anger...he made me proud to be a Democrat.
I had Union Thugs teachers handing me candy. I saw more law enforcement officers in one place than I have ever seen in my life.
Jump with me below the fold...
First I need to thank Professor Anheier for allowing me extra time on an assignment so that I could attend the rally this evening, which in turn makes this blog post possible.
Now onto the the photos...
One thing about Madison...pretty much wherever you are...you can see the Capitol...this was taken at the stoplight on the corner of W. Washington and Regent.
The police presence is almost stifling...it feels like a police state, yet the cops are nice.
Did I say heavy Police Presence?
More police
Off duty police...
This is where I was surrounded by firefighters and bagpipes...
Fox was doing a live report when I took this photo...the crowd was chanting "Fox Lies" the whole time.
Dane County Sheriff Dave Mahoney...my hero for saying that his deputies would not be palace guards!
Local Businesses are behind us!
The Marquee on the theater where I saw the premiere of Return of the Jedi, George Thourghgood, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and where my sister saw The Who open for Herman's Hermits, the Orpheum.
