Yesterday I wrote a diary noting how the mistress of Wisconsin Republican Senator Randy Hopper had been given a state job, and the questions that surronded the hiring.

Well today a little more information has come out and it turns out her salary is 35% higher then the person who left the job the previous month.
Again from the ABC affiliate in Madison WKOW, who has taken the lead on this story:
A state worker with ties to Sen. Randy Hopper is being paid $11,000 more annually than her predecessor in a position at the department of regulation and licensing.
State officials said the woman, 26, was hired to a limited term, communications specialist position last month, with a salary equivalent to $42, 328 annually.
State officials Friday said the woman’s predecessor left the position in January, with a salary equivalent to $31,200 annually. No explanation was given for the new hire’s higher pay.

I may have read an article or two that where the current govenor of Wisconsin mentioned something about a budget crisis. I can't RECALL the details.
But isn't it interesting that a senators mistress can take a job with the state and immediately be paid 35% more than the person who previously had it.
UPDATE: Commenters have corrected my math. She is making 35% more than the person she replaced, not 27% as I originally indicated.
