Despite the fact that nobody on his staff knows how to hold a video camera steady, Tim Pawlenty, the Governor of Minnesota who managed to never get a majority of the vote in a state election and left us with a $5.2 billion deficit, seems to be running for President.
He released a video today that not only gave me a seizure, but also got me curious. T-Paw, from South St. Paul, invokes the memory of a painful moment in his life, when the South St. Paul stockyards finally closed. A quick Google search revealed this story from 2008, midway through T-Paw's 2nd term:
They came by the hundreds Friday to witness the final hours of South St. Paul's 122-year stockyard history.
Uh oh. I don't think using the memories of an industry that closed under your watch are the best way to get a presidential campaign started. Maybe his Exploratory Committee should explore a different direction, starting with a smarter message and ending with somebody buying a video camera tripod.
