Earlier today, Senate Republicans in Wisconsin
issued a threat to the Democrats who left the state rather than allowing Governor Scott Walker's union-busting bill to be crammed down the throats of Wisconsinites.
Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald Thursday morning ordered the apprehension of the 14 Democratic senators who left the state two weeks ago to avoid a vote on Gov. Scott Walker's controversial budget repair bill. [...]
Fitzgerald said the action is the equivalent of arrest,
"It's the same as an arrest," he said. It is an arrest."
Well, it's 4:00 in Wisconsin, and:
Longtime Sen. Fred Risser, D-Madison, said it was "below the dignity of the state Senate to be spending its time passing such resolutions."
He said none of the 14 senators is in Wisconsin, and none plans to be in the Senate chamber by 4 p.m.
