- Groups can now Follow:
You can now add followed tags, followed users, and followed groups to your group if you're an admin. Go to the Following section of your group's profile, and you'll see a link to search for tags, users, or groups to add to your list.
What is it good for? Groups can create a stream, and the tags they follow will put diaries into a sidebar called "Related Diaries." So, if you're a group about trains, you can automatically add any HSR-tagged diary into the sidebar.
(Long term, I expect we'll use these tags as an additional way to search for groups as well.)
- Following for individuals:
As part of the groups piece, individuals now have a simple local search for tags, users, and groups and an easy way to follow them from the Following pages.
- You should now be able to add a note on your followed groups page.
- Group Admins can now edit a group blogroll, and the corresponding sidebar appears for that group.
- Permalink should have more permalink-like behavior - ie, it should open a diary without any comments.
- If you rate a comment, the [new] marker will disappear, per popular demand.
- Rogue groups can display a banned icon, if the situation warrants.
- Skull and crossbones icon should now appear instantly upon banning, rather than waiting for the incremental mojo update.
- A change to how the update function works on front paged stories - those update messages will be above the 'fold.'
- Rounding error in the mojo and comment hide rating calculations corrected.
- Gift subscription links now available.
- Some Other Stuff™.
Fun fact:
Because April 16 is Emancipation Day in DC, a legal holiday, and falls on a Saturday,
this year the IRS filing deadline is Monday, April 18. So, happy not-yet Emancipation Day, everyone!
