I just saw a clip on CNBC of Paul Ryan (WATB. Wis) on last night's Kudlow Report. (Full disclosure, I cannot stomach Mr. Kudlow so I didn't see the show as broadcast.) It is a marvel to watch.
Here we have the "thoughtful, intelligent, courageous" chair of the House Budget committee. Standing up and boldly addressing the substance of the Obama deficit reduction proposal .... or not ...
What we have is a petulant little kid who is upset that the President correctly saw that he was not serious about actually reducing the deficit.
"Look, I will just tell you, Larry, I really was lead to believe that this was going to be more of an olive branch speech. That the president was going to move toward us, offer us some ideas where we can agree and work together on, like, social security and other areas. We didn't get any of that, instead of getting a speech from a leader, from our commander-in-chief on some constructive path forward on deficit reduction, we got a partisan gauntlet from the campaigner-in-chief.
I guess that Paul Ryan just found out that politics are a contact sport, and that he's not wearing any padding...
