Passover is one of the most important holidays in the Jewish calendar. Not only does it recognize the origins of Judaism, perhaps mythical perhaps at least partly real, but it becomes the symbol of freedom over slavery and oppression for people all over the world for much of history. It is an aspect of Judaism that became part of the culture of American slaves.
Today I honor and discuss both Passover, and an event that took place on Passover 1943 that in many ways embodies the true meaning of Passover. I also include some recent, interesting articles from Culture Kitchen.
