Michelle Bachmann slandered Jewish people and others worldwide this week by saying that taxes are a "similar death" and a "similar taking away" to that which occurred during the Holocaust.
Bachmann rejected the idea that the comparison was merely an analogy (a comparison where only some parts are "similar"), instead asserting clearly that she believes the two are actually "similar."
All politicians are instructed that there are no "analogies" to the Holocaust. "Partial similarities" by definition are offensive to use as political arguments since partial similarities neglect and minimize the full horror that was the Holocaust. So, knowing this, Bachmann threw caution to the wind and embraced a full similarity between taxes and the Holocaust instead.
This type of rhetoric is unacceptable in America politics. It is by definition un-American. The media must demand a full recognized (by Jewish groups) public apology or institute a media boycott of all of her political statements until she offers such an apology.
This kind of disrespect for those who suffered and died during WWII is inhuman and cannot be tolerated by America.
Here is her full quote:
"I tell you this story because I think in our day and time, there is no analogy to that horrific action," she said, referring to the Holocaust. "But only to say, we are seeing eclipsed in front of our eyes a similar death and a similar taking away. It is this disenfranchisement that I think we have to answer to."
Bachmann asserted that taxes and the Holocaust are a "similar death" and a similar "taking away" and then followed it up with this:
"The question comes down to this: what will you say to that next generation about what you did to make sure that wouldn't be their fate?" she said.
Bachmann must be called on by the media to apologize to the Jewish community and to all decent humanitarians worldwide for equating taxes with the Holocaust.
She shouldn't be given airtime to discuss any other issues until she has apologized and rejected her own beliefs as insane and inhumanly offensive.
