So, with so much anticipation coursing through our veins on the eve of the big event tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. in rolling time zones, (wasn't that thoughtful of God to make it so orderly?), I thought what songs should be played at the pre-Rapture parties? And for those of us who are left behind, what songs would be inflicted upon us to rend our sackcloth and gnash our teeth by? What follows are my suggestions.
Pre-Rapture revelry songs - Oh these are obvious....Blondie-Rapture, REM-End of The World As We Know It, Prince-1999, Signs-Ace of Base and She Was- Talking Heads. Please feel free to add your own and please post videos. I'm a DKOS regular and total luddite when it comes to posting videos.
Post Rapture---in case we really are DFH and Harold Camping loses the 72 million net profit he has made off of this frenzy....well now we are in pure musical abomination land. Think of the songs you never, ever, ever, want to hear again and then imagine having to hear them over and over, and over and over. Twilight Zone used this as an analogy for hell in the late 60s and it has haunted me ever since. So my #1 nomination for songs to gnash your teeth by is "Muskrat Love" by Captain & Tenille. This "anti-song" is an abomination. Cruel & Unusual punishment. I'd give #2 slot to that horrible 90s song "And I would walk 500 miles"... and well, after that, I'm sure The Macarena is in the top 5. Please let me hear your suggestions!
