The San Francisco Giants added their voice with an "It Gets Better" Video"
The video features pitchers Matt Cain, Barry Zito and Sergio Romo, centerfielder Andres Torres, and batting coach Hensley ''Bam Bam'' Meulens.
Partial transcript:
We all know how difficult life can be as a teenager,'' Zito starts out. '' We've all been there and had to deal with the pressure to fit in and be accepted by our peers.'' Romo adds. ''It's particularly challenging for LGBT teens who face adversity and intolerance in their daily lives,'' Cain says.
It then ends with various players saying "It Gets Better" in English, Spanish and Japanese. This video has the force of the entire SF Giants organization and given the community they represent it is just a very hopeful thing for them to do.
I am not going to going over the depressing list of teens and young adults who have felt bullied, hurt and isolated, who have had harm brought upon them or upon themselves, everybody at the DKos knows it far too well. The more these messages go out, from every walk of life, the better.
