Breitbart first reported the Weiner story Saturday on his site Big Government using a screengrab from the person in question, Twitter user "@patriotusa76," who lists his name on his account as Dan Wolfe and said he captured the image from Weiner's feed before it was deleted.

With that as background, The Smoking Gun published emails today from Dan Wolfe, AKA "patriotusa76," at least one of which listed Breitbart as a recipient. In the first email, Wolfe tips off Breitbart to the screengrab as well as key details of the story and promises at the end that "we have more."

In the second email, Wolfe appears agitated and warns that he will be in big trouble if unspecified details about his role in the incident leak:
I have ALOT of personal problems I didn't want to go into--but as I become the focus of this I am more and more afraid this will all come out. I want to tell you why I haven't talked on the phone yet.

It appears that Mr. Wolfe has ... issues. Issues like ex-wives and ex-girlfriends who hate him. It appears that he is desperate that he will suddenly be dealing with a lot of troubles that he is not in a position to handle.
If this went down as it appears it did - the use of a security loophole in yfrog to embarrass Weiner, probably by Dan Wolfe, and Breitbart used that to attack Weiner via his Big Government website, thereby bringing a storm down around the ears of Mr. Wolfe - well, let's just say that Mr. Wolfe may start singing like a bird. Especially since someone is leaking Wolfe's emails, which either means he's doing it himself, or he's been hacked. Since Anonymous is on the case, it is entirely possible that Wolfe has been hacked.
I almost feel sorry for Dan Wolfe, just as I almost feel sorry for Lady Macbeth by Act V. Almost.
But I don't feel sorry for Andrew Breitbart at all. I hope that Mr. Wolfe's troubles rebound to the sleazy Mr. Breitbart and result in a loss of credibility so absolute and conspicuous that even CNN might deign to notice.
