Well Face the Nation was awful today. Bob Schieffer had the unctuous Haley Barbour on to state that "President Obama's policy is to increase energy prices" with no justification for either how that's happening nor proving that it is actually government policy. Then to make the claim that "raising taxes are bad for the economy" again with no justification. And Schieffer didn't ask even a slightly challenging question like, "If low taxes create jobs, why haven't we had sustained job creation over the last 10 years?" No he let Barbour rave on.
Next he had on Nancy Pelosi, she couldn't get a work in edgewise without Schieffer challenging her on everything. He even wanted to know why "Congress hasn't done anything about jobs," as if she were still Speaker. When she pointed out that the question needed to be posed to the Republicans, he keep going after her. It really was much worse than usual.
It was quite obvious that Mr. Schieffer really likes Republicans and thinks that he can bully Ms. Pelosi. Really pretty bad.
It really re-inforced to me that Nancy Pelosi really needs to be the Speaker of the House again and that Republicans exist in a world that consists solely of Democratic conspiracies and that the "media" is anything but liberal.
