Today, my mom and I saw a poster at the Alachua County Library regarding the announcement:
"In addition, Three Rivers Legal Services will be on hand to help those attending with record sealing
and expunging.
********************
Jenn Petion, community and government relations manager at Partnership for Strong Families, said there will be information about full-time and part-time positions, volunteer or intern opportunities and business and non-profit jobs. She said job seekers will have an opportunity to interact with employers that have job opportunities available in all levels, from entry to experienced."
Partnership for Strong Families is a state agency. 3 Rivers Legal Services is a legal agency which provides pro-bono support to about 1/10th of 1% of the population in Gainesville, FL. I know several people who are victims of domestic violence that they have turned away.Don't you think it's a great idea for the Partnership for Strong Families, which is one of the agencies charged with protecting (mostly) women and children from abuse, to partner with 3 Rivers Legal Services so batterers can conceal their history and prey on even more victims?
Oh yes, and those of you who are out of work and don't have a criminal record, wouldn't it be great if 3 Rivers would help YOU find a job?
I think I just identified another waste of taxpayer money which Governor Scott can eliminate.
If you are as upset about this as we are, please email Governor Rick Scott at the link below:
