Republicans are more afraid of Norquist than they are their constituents.
We need to put the heat on them for that.
Just as years of hectoring about "liberal media bias" have led to defensive over-reactions, we need to force Republicans to deny Norquist by name at every turn.
We should be asking these questions every day:
"Why are you siding with Grover Norquist instead of your own folks back home?"
"Why are you afraid of standing up to Grover Norquist?"
"Who elected Grover Norquist anyway?"
I'm sure you can think of more good variants in the comments, but we need to relentlessly clarify the conflict between Norquist and voters.
I haven't got the links handy but we've seen that polls show even Republican voters favor revenue increases, and wealthy Republican donors have told their reps "tax us more."
UPDATE: Here's one for any kind of town hall or public venue:
You've signed Grover Norquist's pledge and said publicly you'll keep to that. But your own donors and voters are on record supporting some tax increases.
Are you siding with Norquist because you think regular folks don't understand the economy, or because you think voters will forget you went against them on this?
So why are Republicans siding with Norquist instead of the folks back home?
Why are they afraid of Grover Norquist?
And who elected him anyway?
