"She's Alive... Beautiful... Finite... Hurting... Worth Dying for"
This is a non-commercial attempt to highlight the fact that world leaders, irresponsible corporates and mindless 'consumers' are combining to destroy life on earth. It is dedicated to all who died fighting for the planet and those whose lives are on the line today. The cut was put together by Vivek Chauhan, a young film maker, together with naturalists working with the Sanctuary Asia network (www.sanctuaryasia.com). source = yt uploader comments
h/t to edger who posted it yesterday under the title In Memorium. And much gratitude to my dear friend DharmaSyd for the find.
DharmaSyd is a self-described "searcher and finder" heh... also happens to be one of the wisest people I "know"... a rare commenter here but had this to say a couple of weeks ago... so I'll quote her (hope she won't mind!) since I'm rather dumbfounded after viewing this exquisite video:
There is perhaps a grace period.. (2+ / 0-)
...a grace period where the Laws of Nature, the Divine Wisdom of Nature shows us, in what could perhaps be called a merciful way, what will be the result of our refusal to see the wisdom and to obey the inexorable laws.
I think we have been witnessing that process. The destruction of life on earth is clearly foreshadowed in the disasters wrought by our hubris. Previously, an earthquake, no matter how great the magnitude, would just be an earthquake; a fire would just be a fire, or a flood, a flood.
The fact that these -- earthquakes, tsunamis, fires and floods -- are now focusing on our assumed 'mastery of the atom,' our nuclear arrogance, is incredibly and ironically appropriate.
It looks to me like there is, indeed, intelligent design. Not in the way the Fundies mean it, but rather in the absolute validity and divine wisdom of the laws of nature.
There was even a nuclear reactor in Massachusets, I believe, which was shut down when a massive number of jellyfish were sucked into the nuke plant's water intake. And don't forget that the rapid increase in the number of jellyfish is, so the scientists say, related to, guess what, the warming oceans.
There is no escape. It is mandated. To continue to live, we must learn the laws of nature and live in harmony with them.
Oren Lyons reminds us of this wisdom known by the native peoples.

[bold mine]
I'm gobsmacked after viewing this film ... it sent me off into a realm of alert & grief... very powerful visuals herein. This is very real, very threatening ... Truth. It puts everything else we jabber about into sharp focus.
Perspective.
They say that the world population will reach 7 billion soon. 9+ billion by 2050. Mindboggling. I recalled this quip from another friend of mine who said once, and I laughed, "In China, even if you are a one in a million kind of guy............there are still a thousand of you." I think his math may've been off if he were to speak globally, but then ... who knows.
The planet, our home, is gasping... while our world leaders stand idly by, quite often aiding and abetting the pillage.
Again...
To continue to live, we must learn the laws of nature and live in harmony with them.
What are we waiting for?
