In these tough economic times, there are a lot of people who, I'm sure, would like to would like to contribute to efforts to fight back against the Republicans' War on Working Americans, but just don't feel contributing is in the budget for them this time. Among this group of people, is college students; a core liberal constituency struggling to secure the skills necessary to hopefully one day land a job that will pay them enough money to donate to liberal causes regularly. They have the idealism and the enthusiasm, but often not the money. Aside from volunteer work, which I know from experience campaigns find invaluable, I have another way for college students to contribute.
All of the textbooks you don't need can be donated to a little bookstore I started called NotASouldier. As a Wisconsin resident, it is important to me that Scott Walker and the Republicans' union-busting must be stopped. The right-wing is pouring money into the Wisconsin recall and we need to fight back in any way we can. That is why, in support of Wisconsin's unions, NotASouldier will give 50% of the proceeds from all donated books and textbooks to efforts to recall Scott Walker and his supporters in the state senate. Donations will go first to the campaigns of Walker opponents in the ongoing state senate recall elections, and then toward the state Democratic Party's future recall campaign against Scott Walker.
