Any question about whether or not Rick Perry is running for President was answered yesterday.
One problem that has been dogging Rick Perry for several years is one he does not want to talk about or have others judging his actions.
Perry probably allowed an innocent man to be executed in the prison at Huntsville for murders he did not commit.
Cameron Todd Willingham was convicted of Capital Murder and sentenced to die in the State Prison at Huntsville for killing his three young children in an arson fire at his home.
Defense lawyers after the trial began attacking the 'science' involved in the testimony by witnesses for the State claiming the fire was deliberately set by Willingham.
The issue came to the desk of Governor Perry in a request for a delay of execution till this could be sorted out. Perry promptly denied the request and Willingham died by lethal injection.
The issue would not die. The Texas Forensic Science Commission was set up and began an investigation of the 'science' involved. In August 2009 a report to the Commission by an expert hired by the Committee found the testimony of the State's witnesses about arson were no only unconvincing but that had actual scientific evidence been presented Willingham would have been acquitted.
Rick Perry immediately replaced three members of the Commission with hardcore right wing politically ambitious members who attempted to change the Commissions findings.
In response to allegations that he allowed the execution of an innocent man, Perry was quoted as stating "he was a wife beater."
Yesterday our State Attorney General, a hard core right wing Republican who spent millions looking for non-existent voter fraud, issued a ruling against the Commission that effectively blocks review of Cameron Todd Willingham execution.

Anyone in Texas who understands the extremist lunatic Teapublican politics of this state understands the dynamics at work. The Attorney General is doing his part to cover up Rick Perry's shallow intelligence and incompetence. This is the most prominent indication yet that Perry is running.
