I have to admit that I rarely eat burgers, maybe once a month if that. But I've occasionally enjoyed the Western Bacon Cheeseburger and onion rings, made by Carl's Jr. But no more.
Yesterday, I saw Andrew Puzder, CEO of CKE Restaurants, Carl's Jr.'s parent company on Fox being interviewed by Neil Cavuto. Puzder was openly criticizing Obama and the Democrats. He claimed that Obama had no plan to reduce the national debt. He blamed Obama for the credit rating downgrade. He was lamenting the fact that companies like his were being overburdened and discouraged by regulations being promoted by the big, bad Democrats in Congress. He was talking about the fact that he had just moved his company headquarters from California to Texas, a right-to-work state where the environment is more company-friendly. He openly critized Obama for promoting "Obamacare". He stated that corporations can regulate themselves and that big government gets in the way. However, out of the other side of his mouth, this poor harried businessman was proudly proclaiming a 34% increase in profits over the last year, despite all these terrible regulations and burdens he had to live with. I've never heard a CEO of a company so openly bash the President. I guess he thinks that he can say these things with impunity and that liberals will stupidly continue buying his burgers without a second thought. Needless to say, I know I will never set foot in the door of another Carl's Jr.
