Obama should campaign with a big ass jobs bill. A giant bill that promises a million jobs. The million job march. Not the normal infrastructure, patent reform, and unemployment package baloney. We need a bill packed with jobs that just so happens to be packed with great liberal ideas. Since Obama's team seem unable to blast out a giant jobs bill, let me help you with a few ideas to job creation.
Green bomb! Renewable energy construction, transport, implementation, and maintenance. Obama could paint the Midwest with windmills and the southwest with solar panels. If done on a truly Eisenhower level then its an atomic blast of jobs. Boom: 200,000-500,000 jobs.
Major Job Relocation Credits. North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, and Wyoming are all states that are thirsty for more workers. If people knew they were a bus ticket away from making 13 dollars an hour at a McDonalds in Williston, ND maybe people would give it a try. Yea, the winters can suck, but being broke sucks more. Kerpow: 100,000 jobs.
Infrastructure improvements. Plus, a Ports-to-Plains north-south highway from Texas to Canada would further push development in the under-developed west. 100,000 jobs.
Finally, classrooms version 2.0. This may be the most controversial measure, but it offers the most improvement and the most jobs. By reducing school's administrative budgets (which will be written on the wall soon enough) Obama could offer low-paying (BUT STILL PAYING) teacher assistant jobs across the nation. Most classrooms need a second teacher in some capacity. If not for learning reasons, then for bouncing reasons. Yee-ouch: 250,000 to 500,000 jobs.
Obama doesn't need to mention the jobs that he's creating as long as he keeps throwing out the million job bill mumbo-jumbo. Even the reddest Repubs are in need of jobs, and if Obama carries a big ass jobs bill into every town meeting across the nation everybody will know about it, everybody will want it, and when the republicans invariably vote it down, then Obama can run on something we truly need. A big ass jobs bill.
