Update #1 - From Uppity Wisconsin:
The Democratic Party of Wisconsin is filing a lawsuit alleging that Alberta Darling has colluded illegally with right-wing groups during the campaign and before, and has been involved in a coverup.
The party alleges that Darling has committed multiple felonies, and also includes her campaign, Wisconsin Family Action, Wisconsin Right to Life, Americans for Prosperity, and other groups.
The allegation is that an election bribery scheme including these groups has involved Darling writing the budget to benefit these groups. Darling received an open records request to receive the communications between Darling and these groups, and she has refused to comply with them. The Dane County District Attorney brought a lawsuit against her, and she then released some of the requested records while insisting that she has complied with all requests. This is the basis of the allegations of a coverup, and misconduct in public office.
More details will be available here soon.
Wisconsin Family Action, Wisconsin Right to Life, Americans for Prosperity? The ones involved in the possibly illegal absentee ballot bribery scheme outlined by Giles Goat Boy yesterday? Pass the popcorn, indeed.
Update #2 - a little more detail from Dane101
In a press conference this morning the Democratic Party of Wisconsin alleged that Republican State Senator Alberta Darling, who is currently involved in a recall election campaign, has committed multiple felonies. They're filing complaints with the Government Accountability Board, and the District Attorneys of Dane and Milwaukee Counties. They also name in the complaint they're filing Darling's campaign, Americans for Prosperity, Wisconsin Family Action, the American Federation for Children, and Wisconsin Right to Life.
DPW also said the Milwaukee County District Attorney's office announced an investigation yesterday into a coalition of "right-wing corporate funded special interest groups." Tate said the groups have been funneling hundreds of thousands of dollars into campaign communications in support of Darling. Tate also alleged Darling was accepting "unlimited, unregulated campaign cash" from those same groups while she was writing Gov. Scott Walker's budget.
So we've got the American Federation for Children, too.
Update #3 - The actual complaint filed with the Wisconsin GAB is here. You can see the DPW press release here.
