No, this isn't a weather diary, and it isn't a cancer diary either...I told you all how I was going to handle that already.
Instead this is a troll alert and watchfulness diary.
Example one. Comcast, now the owner of NBC and its many affilliates is now starting to slip in some political jabs on behalf of Republicans, at the expense of the administration. To wit, today, 9/12/11, during the weather center segment on The Weather Channel, a political slam was delivered against the administration because large jumbo jet flame redardant delivery planes were not pre-spotted in bone-dry Texas. Let's jump.
It should be known even to Rick Perry, that Governor Perry had to ask for State of Emergency status, as some of you recall RoveCo. made a big too-doo about this when Katrina hit. The problem was that Brownie wasn't prepared for anything. But, with new management, considerable assistance has already been rendered to Texas, in spite of Perry's cutting of half of the emergency response budget, and one look at Perry's bud, namely the Bastrop Country EMS manager that barfed up this political hairball, tells me somone is projecting some misfortune onto the black President instead of the whiter-than-white Perry, Cantor, and the rest of the cracker crackpots, et. ux, where it belongs. Obama does not look over-eager to cut aid to Texas...Perry and the "Cracker Gang" look, sound, and act, far more guilty on this subject.
On the local front, the Saturday clunk letter page of the Syracuse Post-Standard front and centered one of the most brazen and silly pleas for progressives to stay home and not vote this time around. Since the letter exceeded the 250 word guidelines for the clunk letter page it has to be because the Clunk Letter Editor had to have given prior approval for this incredible load of "spoiled fish" that wowed me not because it urged people to not be good citizens, but because, in so many words, "Progressives and Liberals should not reward Obama with re-election because the war still rages, Gantanemo, and all of the Patriot Act outrages are still in place, etc. etc. ad nauseum. Granted, this is rankling to me and many others, but the writer forgot to include a replacement name! It was simply "you Progressives and libs, sit this one out, OK?" Further, this letter came from the upscale east suburb of Manlius, New York. If Syracuse were New York City, Manlius would be Fairfield County, Connecticut. Manlius is a seething hotbed of Republican ya-hooery...Democrats only get elected for a term if the Pubbies get too corrupt, other than that it's redder than "Red Sails in the Sunset." It was Republican gamester gaarbage, and the Post-Standard apparently knew this a gave it center stage. How the Clunk Letter Editor must have chortled at how many of those stupid libs would be deceived by his little ploy. Wake up Mr Editor, take a look around...stop falling for stupid conservative tricks.
We cannot control or stop all ya-hoo bull-pucky from Republicans looking to boost their candidate at the expense of the opposition. That's political life.
But, I find it damn unseemly that Comcast would disrupt my watching of the weather report with some half-baked, misinformed, over-wrought Texas political hot air. Goddammit, John Hope wanted and got a weather channel that worked all day all night serving and protecting the public, everywhere in the US. Then along comes Comcast and they shit all over this idea because the grand pooh-bah running Comcast is a Republican nit-wit. No wonder the Weather Channel is next to Fox News on the Verizon FIOS system up here...Poor John Hope, he must be rolling over in his grave!
The same goes here at Daily Kos. Let us not divert from pushing for and getting more and better Democrats. I have watched the so-called boycott diaries with bemusment and a very baleful eye. The more the Pubbies try to divide us, the tighter we must stand...remember, Obama is despised by the Republicans, and apparently is either too busy or too absent of guile to see how the media is portraying him.
I would support a Sanders movement, but if Obama runs, and Bernie doesn't, I will support him, not because I like or approve of him or his policies, but instead because I have seen his opposition and at no time since the days of Jay Gould, Jim Fisk, and and the excesses of the Vanderbilts has the situation been more dire for the nation in terms of American Freedoms and liberties. It is either Sanders or Obama or it is a disaster for America. That is all.
Get registered and vote! The Republican you vote out of office is the liberty and freedom for the bulk of America you protect.
