This is a repost from last night. Although the goal appears to have been reached, it's not certain that pledges from the first drive will renew. Just to be sure those pledges are covered, I'd like to see the final total hit $3,000. (The first round garnered $985.) So, please do what you can and if you need extra incentive, be sure to download & read the first installment. You'll be glad you did!
One of our own has been doing his best under extraordinarily hard circumstances. He goes by the handle The Gimp. I've followed his diaries for a while now and been absolutely astounded by the fabulous artwork (after the squiggle) he produces. He is a mouth artist & uses a lightboard to create some of the most life-like portraits I've ever seen.
He has struggled to keep a roof over his and his wife's heads, the heat & lights on, and food on their table. Now he has found a way to use his phenomenal talent and turn it into a career. He's close to his goal, but time is VERY short.
We've got three days to see him succeed.
We've got TWO days to see him succeed.
Here's a sample of his recent work:
His plan, in his words:
Hellwatch: Season One is a supernatural horror novella series with a strong disabled protagonist, broken into 9 novella 'episodes'. The Pilot Episode is free to download here! Each of the remaining 8 episodes will come out monthly, starting in January of 2012. Your support will help me make that happen! A schedule of Season One can be viewed here.
This Kickstarter project will fund episodes 2 AND 3.
To that end, he started a pledge drive on Kickstarter to get the project launched. You can be a part of this ground-breaking series beyond financial support - you can literally become part of the story, depending on your pledge level.
What better investment can you make than to assist someone in becoming self-sufficient? This is the type of support this community has so recently enjoyed participating in during the subscription drive. So, c'mon, Kossacks - let's get behind this effort and get The Gimp the help he needs to make this a rousing success!
Remember, we've only got three days to see him succeed.
